The Canon EOS Rebel T7i /EOS 80D / 800D is an entry-level DSLR camera that is loaded with features and has a polished design. It is ideal for beginner photographers and individuals wanting to have a solid, all-around camera.

Features

One of the major things that the Rebel T7i release stands out for is its 24,2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor. In addition to having an efficient sensor, Canon installed a DIGIC 7 image processor, which is able to handle 14 times more data than the DIGIC 6. This results in significant improvements for general autofocus performance and noise performance whenever the user is shooting at a high ISO.

The sensitivity ranges from ISO 100 up to ISO 25,600. There is also a Hi setting with an equivalent ISO 51,200. In the back is a three inch LCD with 1,040,000 dot resolution and vari-angle touchscreen display.

One serious drawback is the T7i/800D does not offer 4K vido capture. However, the Full HD capture is a significant improvement over its predecessor with up to 60p. There is a 5-axis image stabiliization system for recording that allows for steadier video when holding the camera by hand.

For connectivity, the camera has NFC and Wi-Fi support and there is access to a low-energy Bluetooth connection. The Camera Connect app alows you browse photos remotely as well as operate and wake the camera.

The new Canon 18-55 mm kit lens as offered as the starter kit for the Rebel T7i/800D. The lens has image stabilization of up to four stops and f/3.5-5.6 maximum aperture.

Design And Handling

The Canon T7i/800D / 80D is made from a combination of polycarbonate and aluminum alloy to reduce the camera’s overall weight. The quality of its construction and material is very good.

On the top plate are controls that provide you access to a command dial, autofocus display and ISO controls. The rest of the frequently used settings are located on the rear of the camera. There is also a Quick menu that allows you to adjust your most important settings while on the fly.

The touchscreen allows you to control the camera’s details and everything is very intuitive. The viewfinder is optical rather than electronic. To reduce the price, a pentamirror is included instead of a pentaprism.

Performance And Autofocus

The AF system is a 45-point model, with all points being cross-type. This makes the AF much more accurate since they are sensitive in both the vertical and horizontal plane at once.

For most tasks the focusing speed is sufficient and there is a significant improvement in subject-tracing performance over the earlier models.

Another plus of this camera is the Dual Pixel AF for video capture and Live View photography. When this is combined with it 7 x 7 AF grid is provides significantly better performance.

Image Quality

Image quality is very clean and improved over previous models. Noise is also handled much better.

Edited raw files look very good. The colors are nice at JPEG output but when it comes to color accuracy and clarity there is a noticeable visible difference.

Final Verdict

For people wanting to do a lot of video recording there are better options available at this price point. However, if you are looking for an easy to use and well-rounded camera that introduces you to DSLR photography, then the Canon EOS Rebel 7Ti/800D is a solid choice.

2. Our next choice for beginners to the DSLR is the brilliant Nikon D3400. The new edition and big brother to the D3300 we really like this camera and makes the grade for our choice for beginner DSLR cameras for under $500, lots of accessories and bundles available for this unit.

3. With the D5600 we are now stepping up in price range and therefore encroaching into the more professional range of DSLR camera.

It’s also worth noting that several big photography magazines have heaped praise on this model, and it generally receives positive scores that are encouraging enough to give you the confidence to make the purchase if it’s within your price range.

5. The Canon EOS Rebel T7i /EOS 80D / 800D is an entry-level DSLR camera that is loaded with features and has a polished design. It is ideal for beginner photographers and individuals wanting to have a solid, all-around camera. It is the highest priced camera in our beginner range of DSLR’s but comes highly recommended for people looking for a great camera that can match cameras that usually come in at a much higher price.

When the love for photography turns from casual to serious, beginners will want to move from point-and-shoot cameras to DSLR cameras. While the former offers photography decent enough for everyday images, the DSLR camera offers much higher image quality, bigger sensors, interchangeable lenses, and far more manual control.

It is close to impossible for beginner to sort through the features, functions, and price points of various DSLR cameras to make an informed choice. The following few paragraphs will try to simplify the process of buying and help you decide on the best DSLR camera for you that meets your needs along with your budget.

[/fusion_content_box][/fusion_content_boxes][fusion_text]

7 Important Considerations When Choosing a DSLR Camera for Your Needs

How do you make a decision regarding the most suitable DSLR camera to buy? The market is increasingly offering an array of DSLR cameras so that you have a real choice ahead of you. The following are the most important considerations hen looking for a DSLR to buy:

[/fusion_text][fusion_accordion boxed_mode=”no” border_size=”1″ border_color=”” background_color=”” hover_color=”” divider_line=”yes” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=””][fusion_toggle title=”1. Price” open=”no”]

The price is obviously an important consideration when looking to buy a DSLR. DSLR cameras generally range in price from the very affordable options at the lower end to the very high priced options at the professional end. It is important to set a budget early on, but you should also remember that you need to consider other costs of owning a DSLR camera such as:
– Lenses
– Batteries: DSLR cameras usually come with a single battery, but you might require a spare if you like to travel.
– Memory Cards: DSLR cameras usually come with a memory card, but you are likely to find it insufficient due to its size. You will probably want to upgrade to at least a 1 gigabyte card.
– Camera bag: If you are fortunate enough, the dealer may throw one in, but you shouldn’t expect it to be of good quality. Invest in a proper bag since the DSLR is a worthwhile investment.
– Filters: It is important to get UV filters for all the lenses you buy, but it can also be a good idea to consider other types later on too.
– Extended Warranty: The debate still rages on about whether or not it is worth buying an extended warranty, but it is something worth considering.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Sensor Size” open=”no”]

The sensor size is one of the most important considerations when choosing a DSLR camera, but most people are not aware of. A DSLR camera contains an image sensor, which is responsible for recording the image you see through the viewfinder and sends it to the memory card. The larger the sensor, the more information it is able to capture and the clearer the images will be.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”3. Use” open=”no”]

When you head over to the camera shop to buy a DSLR, the first thing that the salespeople are likely to ask you is about the photography you plan to do. It is worth asking yourself what you plan to use the DSLR for up front since it will help you think about the accessories and features you will need.
Is it for sports photography? Do you plan to travel with the camera? Is it just a general purpose camera? Is it for Low Light Photography? Is it for Macro Photography? Prepare a realistic list of the photography you plan to be using it for.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”4. Size” open=”no”]

DSLR cameras tend to be more sizeable than point-and-shoot cameras, but a fair amount of variation exists in terms of size between them too. While some photographers don’t mind carrying weight gear around, it can be a good idea to choose small and light models if you plan to do photography on the go.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”5. Compatibility with Previous Gear” open=”no”]

The great thing about DSLR cameras is that they are in many instances compatible with some of the gear you might already own.

This is particularly true when it comes to lenses. Chances are that if you already have a film SLR, then those lenses might be compatible with a DSLR from that manufacturer. However, you shouldn’t assume that all lenses will be compatible, but it is worth asking the question since you could enjoy considerable savings.

If you already own a point-and-shoot camera, it can be a good idea to check the type of memory it takes since some DSLR camera models might also be compatible with them. While this probably will not be a major consideration since memory cards are now quite affordable than was the case previously, it could still be a factor to consider.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”6. Resolution” open=”no”]

The number of megapixels the DSLR camera has is an important consideration if you are looking to buy one. DSLR camera come with a wide variety of megapixel ratings. Megapixels typically come into play once you consider how you plan to use the images. If you will be printing enlargements, more can be good, but if you will be printing in small sizes then megapixels are not such an important consideration.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”7. Future Upgrades” open=”no”]

Will you be able to upgrade your DSLR in the future? While an entry-level DSLR will be attractively priced, it is likely to date more quickly than a higher end model and you risk outgrowing it as your expertise grows and your thirst for professional features grows too.

Ask yourself questions pertaining to your current level of expertise in photography as well as whether you are a person that first learns how to master something before moving to a higher model that provides more features and control.

The current range of photographic equipment in the market is more diverse than ever before and it can be a challenge to find the right DSLR camera for beginners. The number of variables between cameras is huge, even when they are from the same manufacturer.

The information and tips provided here should help you know what to take into consideration when looking to buy a DSLR camera for beginners so that you find one that matches your budget as well as your needs.

Nikon D3300 Review

Anyone who has used a Nikon for more than just a few family photos will know why the creator has a good reputation. And the Nikon D3300 is no exception for those who are just stepping into the world of serious photography. The features are extensive and impressive, the price is more than justified, and the final product is a good quality digital camera with a lot of options. Of course, it’s not perfect. There are one or two things that can use a little tweaking. But this is as good as it gets in terms of entry model cameras at reasonable prices, and here’s a breakdown of what you will get.

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Features – Nikon D3300

– High-Resolution Sensor

It will probably be one of the first things you’ll notice, and it comes in the form of a 24.2MP APS-C sensor. Now, you will also notice the exact same sensor on the D7200, a model priced in a much higher range, and it says quite a bit about the quality of this particular camera. And without the low-pass filter present, you can expect to capture extra details.

– Response To Lighting

Another critical aspect is the native sensitivity range, which speaks directly to the options you have under certain light conditions. With the D3300, it starts at ISO100 and goes up to 12,800. However, you are at liberty to adjust it to 25,600 via a setting, ensuring you will rarely have a problem where lighting is concerned.

– Powerful Processing Engine

The D3300 comes standard with an impressive EXPEED 4 processing engine, allowing you to record high-definition video at a rate of 50p/60p. And while recording at such a high quality it will maintain continuous autofocus.

– User-Friendly And Long Battery Life

As an entry-level camera, you shouldn’t expect too many complications. In fact, the limited amount of buttons give you a pretty good idea of how quickly you’ll get the hang of the camera. Plus, the battery life is amazing, a definite feature that can influence your choice.

– Durable Handling

The overall quality of the camera when looking at the design and handling doesn’t show any surprise. The grip is deep and feels secure in your hands, while the textured material only adds to this feeling.

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Things That Can Use Adjustments

Naturally, you can only expect so much from an entry-level camera, but there are two points that could qualify as deal-breakers.

– Screen Isn’t Touch Sensitive

It is unclear why the screen is not touch-sensitive because it just makes so much more sense. With all the great features inside the package, a touch-sensitive screen would’ve given it a very big boost.

– 95% Optical Viewfinder

Even though 95% isn’t bad, and with the D3300 it is very clean and clear, you run the risk of seeing unwanted elements when it is way too late.

The Bottom Line

It probably won’t impress photographers who have been in the field for a while now, but beginners and amateurs are going to find the D330 very handy during their learning curve.

Canon EOS Rebel T6i / EOS 750D  – An Overview

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i, known as EOS 750D outside the US, features a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor, as well as a 7560 pixel RGB + IR metering sensor which offers a very good metering accuracy. This camera is an improvement in comparison with the previous model, Canon T5i, in terms on effective resolution, AF system, metering sensors and connectivity. Thanks to the Wi-Fi with NFC capability, you can pair the camera with your NFC-equipped phone by simply tapping them against each other. This makes transferring and sharing your photos a breeze.

The large sensor format delivers excellent results in low light, the dynamic range being also quite good. Although face recognition and subject tracking work very well in live view, they only work on stationary subjects. If you need to shoot images of subjects in motion, you may want to consider upgrading to the T6s Rebel, which does a much better job at tracking moving subjects.

7 Important Considerations When Looking To Buy The Best Digital SLR Cameras For Beginners 7 Important Considerations When Looking To Buy The Best Digital SLR Cameras For Beginners
1. Price

2. Sensor Size
3. Use
4. Size
DSLR cameras tend to be more sizeable than point-and-shoot cameras, but a fair amount of variation exists in terms of size between them too. While some photographers don’t mind carrying weight gear around, it can be a good idea to choose small and light models if you plan to do photography on the go.
5. Compatibility with Previous Gear
6. Resolution
7. Future Upgrades
The Bottom Line
The current range of photographic equipment in the market is more diverse than ever before and it can be a challenge to find the right DSLR camera for beginners. The number of variables between cameras is huge, even when they are from the same manufacturer.
The information and tips provided here should help you know what to take into consideration when looking to buy a DSLR camera for beginners so that you find one that matches your budget as well as your needs.

The features

In general, the features of this camera are just what you’d expect at this price point, and it offers you a fantastic 3.2-inch touchscreen that’s very intuitive yet fully functional to use. Additionally, it makes great use of the APS-C CMOS sensor to give you impressive image quality without too much effort, and the 24.2-megapixel specification is certainly strong enough to allow you to capture every single detail in every picture you take.

Furthermore, the build quality is generally very good, and the polycarbonate construction means that it can take a few bumps and scrapes without too much worry. It’s also a sizeable weight, giving you 420 g of high-quality camera hardware that won’t disappoint you.

It also benefits from a fantastic autofocus feature that’s surprisingly effective, while being easy to use for any beginner-to-intermediate photographer. However, some people may find that its autofocus system isn’t quite as good as some of the competing models at this price point, but it still manages to get the job done.

Pros

The image quality is very impressive, especially for such an affordable entry-level DSLR.

The intuitive and easy-to-use touchscreen makes the operation of the camera an absolute breeze.

It’s a wonderful entry-level model for someone purchasing their first DSLR.

At the end of the day, it’s a worthy purchase for anybody seeking an entry-level DSLR that’ll give them respectable performance for many years without needing an upgrade. It’s also nice to see that the prices are very reasonable for this model, so it’s within the reach of anybody who wants to upgrade their photography skill with the use of a brand new DSLR.

Cons

You can’t disable the touchscreen, so if you aren’t happy with it, you’ll be stuck with it anyway.

Some people have criticized the color levels on its JPEG images, and they can sometimes be darker than you’d like to see.

Conclusion

Overall, it’s clear that the Nikon D5600 is a respectable upgrade to the previous D5500 model, and it’s certainly a quality entry-level DSLR that gives you all of the main features you need without being overly complex for a beginner.

In particular, it’s very well regarded for its image quality, intuitive touchscreen interface, and comfortable grip that’s ideal for extended shoots.
